Most of the hour long programs such as NCIS {for example} are using the terrorist threat as exciting plot lines in the same way as they used to use Russian spy stories in the Cold War. Does this cause bad feelings between Islamic people and others?

I think all TV programs and their leaders care about money. Terrorist come from all backgrounds, and we need to be aware that most of it is a propaganda. I think we all need to be aware of our surroundings and be extremely knowledgeable about every religion.. Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism.. etc etc.

Unfortunately, you can not fight fire with fire....

According to some scholars the media reflects society. During the cold war the Russians were the threat so there were TV shows about that threat. Today, Muslim fundamentalist terrorists are the threat so we will see more shows about terrorism. Just like during the "War on Drugs" We saw a lot of shows and movies about drug dealers. You could never wait long enough to see Chuck Norris, or Steven Segal with a team of seals or the delta force go blow up a drug lords home and beat the crap out of everyone there. There will be no difference with the fanatic Muslims who would rather see us dead than watch out TV.

I don't believe TV or the press "cause" us to feel bad about "Islamic people."

The only thing the press does is let us know what latest mass murderous attack they've claimed responsibility for and/or attempted.

By the time these "exciting plot lines" make it to a TV show -- we already don't have a whole lot of warm-fuzzy feelings towards Islam.

The Islamic people, by their words and their deeds, cause people not to like them.

If they want people to like them, accept them, and believe that "Islam is a religion of peace," then they really ought to reconsider terrorizing everyone who isn't a Muslim (or the "right kind of Muslim") and try to avoid strapping bombs to their chests and walking into crowds full of innocent people.

We'd be more inclined to like them and feel good about their presence in our society, if they discourged this practice amongst themselves, and likely, there would be more positive things to say about them if they knocked off all the crazy, inhumane, terrorist crap we see on the 6:30 news every single night.

It is not a matter of bad feelings for Muslim people it is most important that people who care about terrorist activity are continually on the lookout for anything at all that could be interpreted as a likely suspect in regard to terrorist activities and any thing at all that adds to that awareness can be nothing but good . The more people are looking the sooner they get caught and safety is available.~~

If you want to see what causes bad feelings between muslims and other people go read the koran. American television shows are mild compared to the beheading videos muslims make.
Wake up and smell the jihad.

I agree. Television has brought little to forward society and much to bring it down. The deterioration of family togetherness is one major hit our society has taken and continues to be duped by. Never mind the poor values displayed, and constant capitalism.

Well,it's high time people become aware that their lives are under threat.Maybe, the programs are a bit over-the top but awareness is more important. It might incite fear but then it'll atleast alert people.

Television is doing its best to promote fear in the minds of the American people. It is as much a conspiracy as 9/11 was.
