YOu could use the "seven ages of man "speech of Jaques from "As you like it "by Shakespeare..
The ripe old age refered to there has a mention of that being a "second childishness"leading to "mere oblivion..
Sans teeth ,sans eyes, sans taste ,sans everything..."
In fact when this age is rreached after the fulfilment of the preceding six ..it won't seem like such an end really ..
hope your presentation goes well....
all the best ..

You could address the issue of life expectancy across the globe. A ripe old age in one culture may be young in a different culture. This has also varied over time. Many of the famous European composers died in their 30's and 40's.
What "A ripe old age is also depends on family genetics.
Finally, you could correlate life expectancy with diet and economic factors. Why, for instance, are the people of Okinawa so long-lived?

An age advanced in years. Like my grandmother lived to the ripe old age of 96. People are living longer.

Ripe old age? What do you mean? Do you mean the ideal age to retire, lay back and enjoy the things that you have been wanting to do for a lifetime?

hmm, to me, a ripe old age would be, a period where u feels that you have made an accomplishment in your own personal life, contributes to society and hence, you feel a sense of satisfaction in what you have been doing. Now, its time to enjoy the fruits of your labour.

What you reap, is what you sow.

Good luck =)

To me 85 to 90 years old is a ripe old age, because you are then old enough to see the mistakes you have made in life, and wise enough not to want to change them.

A ripe old age....

Fruit comes to mind, where it has reached it's peak of stamina.
Where it's life is fufilled, it has earned it's age with time.
Where it's peak has been reached, and is mature.
