Wow, tough to answer. Both are 300 plus game winners. Both will go into the hall of fame. Both have been on world championship teams. The nice thing about Maddux is that he has not asked for special treatment. He's just one of the guys and I like that. I think Clemens feels that he might be bigger than the game and I have a problem with that.

There was a four year period when Maddux was absolutely incredible. (His four Cy Young years). He's a better fielder than Clemens. Of course Clemens has spread the wealth winning Cy Young awards (7) with every team he's ever played with. To answer your question
I'd have to give the edge to Clemens but not by that much.

In the prime head to head, I would prefer Maddux over Clemens, however over the course of the long career, I give the edge to Clemens.

Greg Maddux He has something like 10 gold gloves and he still pitches a full year. Roger Clemens should pitch from the begining of the year or shouldn't pitch at all.

Both are future Hall of Famers and 300 game winners, but I'm going to have to say Clemens.

Looking purely at stats, and not current contracts and all that stuff, you gotta say Clemens is better. More wins, more Ks, more Cy Young awards.

Clemens, but flipping a coin is as informative as analyzing their careers; can't go wrong with either one.
