I am learning that there is a difference between Democrat, Liberal and socialists. I am starting to see that I may have confused them ALL into one. Can you direct me to some web sites that will help me learn the differences?

Thank You.

You could start with Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democratic_Party_%28United_States%29
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liberal
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socialism

Employ critical thinking

to reach your own conclusions.

Try looking in the dictionary instead.

Liberals are supposed to be open minded persons who embrace new concepts. Sounds good up front. In reality they are only open minded as long as you agree with them.

Socialists want everything to be shared equally. This sounds good at first also until you realise that someone has to be in charge of deciding what the share is. And they never want to share that power.

Democrats are the easiest to define and the hardest to find these days. They are the ones who want the federal government to be the solution for everything. The problem there is when everything is decided at the highest level there is a lot of waste while the government moves the money up and down.

And to confuse things even more there are Socialist Democrats, Liberal Democrats, and many other kinds of Democrats, even Conservative Democrats.

Finding a web site that defines these terms will be hard. Web sites promoting a particular view are like used car lots. They will show you how bright and shiny the outside of the car is but they won't tell you the transmission is shakey and the motor burns oil.

By today's standards, they are all basically the same. At one time there were some conservative democrats. They have largely abandoned or been forced out of the party. So "Democrat" and "liberal" are just about the same. Liberalism as it is practiced by Dems today, is socialism. Their goal is to have the US government run everything and liberal Dems run the government.
