Have been listening to country songs recently. However, assumed that Tanya Tucker was just a fad because I liked some of the songs. But have just discovered The Guords and have been humming Gin and Juice all morning. Am I turning into a Redneck? Is it just my mid life crisis starting? Is there help/therapy out there?

Help

Don't be ridiculous. Listening to country music does not qualify you as a redneck. Take it from me - a professional with rednecks. I lived in Mississippi - and I'm glad I moved.

If you are a white, poor and uneducated person from anywhere in the U.S., specifically in rural areas, not just the South, because we have him here up North, then you are a redneck.

If you sell beer cans to make some money to buy more beer, you are definitely a redneck.

Country music is not only for rednecks! It's also for well-mannered, middle-class New Englanders as well as for the rest of the world.

Yee Haw!!!!! Welcome, there is nothing wrong with being a redneck. But just because you like country music won't cause you to become one (too bad). But if it is mid life crisis you will need to buy a kick up truck, jeans, boots, western hat, dog, a beer, and finally find a girlfriend at least 20 yrs younger.

Just kidding. Enjoy the music.

Just because you listen to country music doesn't mean you are turning into a redneck. I listen to country music, and I am NOT a redneck.

No, Unless you are a racist. To me redneck=racist. If you listen to country music it doesn't make you racist, unless you are flying a Confederate flag and singing a racist country song.

True, rednecks I knew listened to country music, but they were also staunch bigots by their actions, not by what they listened to.
