Is it appropriate if I prepare a thank you letter beforehand and give it to the interviewer follow after the interview ? This would be my second interview that I would be going too, but is a thank you letter nescessary? or does it seems too stuck up? Thanks so much!

A thank you letter is a polite gesture that shows that you appreciate the interviewers time and consideration. It isn't a "stuck up" gesture at all. Every one likes to know that someone else values that they have taken the time out to do something for someone else.

I would recommend that you prepare the letter shortly after the interview so that you can include tidbits of your discussion. It makes the letter more sincere and relevant.

A thank you letter is traditionally mailed after the first interview. I've never sent one after a second interview. I certainly wouldn't give it to the person after the interview. Always send it in the mail. Good Luck! A second interview is always a good sign.

A pre-prepared thank you letter would not serve the intended purpose...at least not to me.

The thank you note for an interview should refer specifically to the interview and whether you are or aren't interested in the job. It should summarize the topic and is another opportunity to sell yourself. There should have been a quick note of such after the first interview. It is just another opportunity for you to sell yourself after you have left. This also reminds the interviewer of you and your skill/fit in the organization.

If you handed me a thank you note immediately after I spoke with you, I would feel like you just wanted to get it over with.

I think a thank you note is good at any time. Its better right after the first interview, but it may create a favorable impression even after the second. It should recap the discussion and maybe say something positive about you.

thank you letter is not necessary for job interviews if that's what you are referring to... an interviewer only do his job of getting to know people... showing your gratitude for his accommodation through words and smiles of "thank you" will be enough...
