True but when you're in a relationship. You have to confide in your lover. Just the way it is. That is if you want the relationship to work.

i haven't asked permission for things since i had to, before i was an adult. tho i think i'll always ask for input on important life decisions from the people i love and are important to me because i don't know everything and sometimes good advice is needed.

That is why I don't ask. I make a decision and follow through. No one gets to have that kind of control over me.

That also means that I take responsibility for those decisions whatever the consequence.

I only ask permission when I'm considering going out with a friend's ex, and even that'srare. Cardinal rule, never go after a friends ex unless otherwise noted.

No, I don't ask permission. But if it's a major decision which will affect my loved ones, I'll discuss with them, or at least seek their opinions before I decide.

You make a good point, I only would differ that sometimes when people's lives intertwine you do give others input on your decisions. Anyone who doesn't at least consider the wishes of others either lives alone on a deserted island or is the most ego-centric person in the world...
At least that's the word on the street.

I don't ask for permission, its my own life and I want to lead it! I usually ask for advice though because I suck at making decisions. ;)

When my choices effect their life as well, then I get their opinion. It may not sway my decision, but I do need to weigh it in.
