No, though some people's brains seem to die of asphyxia after they've been there for several years.
As long as you know how multitask, you can think your own thoughts while you tend the machines. It's good money, too. Personally I think I'd prefer factory work to the staffroom squabbles back when I was teaching.

I don't think anyone grows up thinking "one day I'll grow up to work in a factory," but the fact remains that many people do. It's boring to imagine people standing my assembly lines day after day doing repetitive work, but todays' factories have changed. There are sophisticated machines and computers which take sharp minded individuals to operate. Some producers of furniture could be considerered artists, but are rarely paid a fare wage for their skills. Let's remember that many of the products we depend upon are produced in factories, and keep in mind that any work is honorable, especially when the worker pays his/hers taxes and supports a family. I'm sure factory workers have dreams , hobbies, and other interests outside of their jobs. Lets hope to see many new factories and industries operating in this country. Keep in mind that they also create jobs for human resources, lab techs, office workers, etc, and can provide profitable summer employment for teenagers. With so many goods now being produced in China and elsewhere, we should be thankful for our factory workers. My hat's off to them. My best friend has been a factory worker for over 20 years, and she's one of the most delightful people I know, with many active brain cells and a happy spirit.

no and I can tell you workers need to be skilled people in their field of work. There are employment situations similar to factory working, not factories, also they are out and about and you have to be pretty much braindead to do this job.

You would soon find yourself out of a job if you were. One person on a line making a mistake can ruin a lot of work.
