apparently in the early days before Harry Potter became so popular J.K. Rowling confirmed that the trio would all get out alive.
Personally I think one of the Weasley twins will die. I'll be gutted if I'm right as they're hands down my favourite characters. except for in the Prisoner of Azkaban when it's Wood and his fanaticism to win the Quidditch cup all the way.

All I know is that JK Rowling has said that one character that she originally meant to die has gotten a last minute rescue while someone close to Harry will die. That could be Ron, Hermione, Ginny, or one of the Weasley adults.

There is no real evidence in this statement. J.K. Rowling hasn't leaked anything about hermione dying.
Why don't you just wait for the book to be released, it's not that far away now...

i dont think she's going to die, its going to be ron and thats why its going to touch the reader because he's a friend as well as a love interest. if hermione dies its going to be sad, maybe heroic but not tragic. i do like hermione but its not fitting to the story to kill her off, it wnt give closure so its more likely harry or ron will die.

The most we know is that two major characters are going to die in DH. There is a lot of speculation as to who those two will be. However, we will not know until the book actually comes out.

I don't mind as it will be the last book she is going to write... no one really knows, because all she has said is that there will be 2 people who are going to die...so don't believe what you hear...
No one really knows and wouldn't it be fun if no one told you what was going to happen?
