Enter every art contest on the web,or any other place you can find them. That gets your art noticed, and builds your reputation. It may also make you a sale or two.
Next, find representation, meaning find a gallery who will give you a show, or at least hang some of your art for sale in their gallery.
Another thing to do is look for annual "sidewalk" sales. Some communities have weekends, often 3 day weekends, where artists can buy an area, or a table, to set up a place to sell their art and crafts.

Wouldn't I love to know! So far I just mention and show mine to as many people as I can...I have even p[osted some on my 360 page. There's always someone who knows someone, as a matter of fact one of my friends , unbeknownst to me until recently, has a brother-in- law who works for a company that sells artwork. Now I need to put together some slides or a CD of my artwork to show to the company (yikes! I'm nervous!)
So just keep putting the word out, make a portfolio of some sort and be persistant. Depending on the kind of artwork you do, just keep your eyes open for craft fairs, galleries or stores that are looking for vendors or sell on commision.
In the artworld it seems that opportunity never comes looking for you you have to be pushy and look for it.
I've also used T-shirt transfers and made T-shirts with my paintings/drawings on them and worn them or given them to friends...be seen as much as possible any way you can.

Get your work out where it can be seen. Go to galleries with samples of your work and ask if you can put them on display. If you are still in school see the art teacher for contacts. Just don't be shy about your work . I was until 2 years ago, then I finally did what I'm telling you to,and it is working. I'm 68 now and I know my life would have been more fulfilling if I started sooner, much sooner. START TODAY!!!
