I reallistically see them going 9-7. They have improvements in their offense and defense. LB Patrick Wilils will help out a lot in his rookie year. Frank Gore was one of the top RB in all of football last year. Vernon Davis should be better this year, and people forget that they were 8-8 last season. This is a young team that loooks like they are starting to head into some good times.

Optimistically 10-6...realistically 9-7. If you look at the up-coming schedule, the Niners don't have it as easy as last season. The 49ers don't seem to have as many divisional games in which, truthfully, may be one of the weakest divisions in the NFL. That is as of last season's stats however. All of the teams in the NFC western division produced major face lifts during the off-season and seem to be more of a well-rounded division that could be a tight race all the way through the regular season.
BUT, I believe that is where the advantage will go to the Niners. They've been a fairly established team and haven't changed much over the past three years besides a few key upgrades in their defense (which will only help them become stronger in the 3-4/4-3 defense), and they have stayed healthy overall.
Teams such as Seattle, who lost key players and are still struggling to get Alexander and Hassleback at 100%, may loose value alongside teams such as St. Louis, Minnesota, Tampa Bay, and Cleveland who are still trying to find their barings.
So, with those key factors at hand, you could see where I'm coming from. The Niners are an established team with a lot of charisma and talent, both with offensive and defensive weapons, and I'll be 'optimistic' about my views and say they'll win their division if not become a wild-card team. Regardless, they will be a team to be reckoned in this up-coming season and will very likely be a play-off contending team!

Qb alex Smith is entering his third season and started all last season and with probowler Frank Gore the offense should've n continue to progress enormously. The Defense is now a lot better with Clements and Willis too.
The 49ers jus missed the playoffs last season, however i think they could very well be a wild card (but thats a reach) . If they can deal with Arizona and St Louis and win at least one of their games against Seattle...they'll b 9-7
But realistically...With Arizona approving in their division and vsing Baltimore, the NFC south with Car., TB., ATL., and NO they could very well end up 7-9

niners only weakness is passrush, it probably will depend on how well the d coordinator can come up with ways to create a pass rush, because the secondary is going to be able to cover, but not if they have to cover for 10 seconds every down. if they can get a good pass rush they will make the playoffs, assuming no injuries or setbacks, esp. gore. they should go 9-7 or 10-6 and either win the west or a wildcard

Wow, I'm more optimistic for them than all of you. I think they'll be 11-5 and win the NFC West. But if they were in the AFC West, I think they would be more like 5-11. They will win their very weak division and reach the playoffs.

Looks like they will get beween 7-9 wins. Had some nice upgades in the offseason now they need to pull it all together. Which is not always as easy as it seems.
