if u r looking 4 a real good graphic card,and u have a good compiter configuration then:
1.u can go in for nividea-8500,which is a dx-10 supporting graphic card which is available in about 170$
2.nividea 8600 is also another graphic card which has dx-10 support but it vl cost u about 190-200$
i would advice not to for for ati graphic cards if u r on such a high budget, bcoz they do not give the performance which they promise

ATI X1950 Pro or Nvidia 7900GS would fit your budget.

If you are also interested in Nvidia's PureVideo HD, get the new 8600GT. It is a DX10 card, a bit slower in games but priced at around $150. The faster 8600 GTS is priced above $200.

Go to http://www.tigerdirect.com and get your graphics card there.....they are cheaper than buying from a store. I got an ATI radaeon extasy 9200 128mb and its been the best graphics card I've ever owned. its going on its 3rd year of service. I've owned nvidias before and they suck.
