people die too young (both good and bad). you need to live in the moment. for those who pass don't morn them celebrate the good things they did and the people they touched.

No, it's not true. Some people that die young are good people, and some - not so much. But the thing is that the younger you are, you have less of a chance to do wrong. The young are usually innocent, and pure. They are just learning the ways of the world. many good people are getting old and older and they lead happy lives.

It's a truism. The young didn't have the time to do bad, so when they die, people say the good die young. It's also to comfort the parents.

its not the rule that good die young.
But personally i have seen most of them dieing young.
On of my my cousin was very pious.He had always respected his elders and never became harsh.he died at a very young age of 15.and i know many more.But its not the case that those who live long all are bad people.
So i still say that its not a rule.
other wise all of our elders were not good people ;-)

No. It's just an exaggeration from anecdotes. Occasionally, popular celebrities die in car crashes, or from drug overdoses, and such, and they are often under 40, so people use the phrase in question. I don't know when it was first coined.
