I have just finished reading Eragon... the book about the boy who finds a blue rock, which turns out to be a dragon egg.
He goes on to be a dragon rider and his adventures start from there.
Its the first book in a trilogy and the first book has already been made into a Movie. Released 2006.
The author was only 15yrs old when he wrote it, and you can tell he was heavily influenced by the Pern Dragon books.
Its a 8/10 from me!

I read on the train to work, most Fantasy and SciFi, so I get through about two books a month. God bless the library!
What was your last book then?

I read Merde Actually by Stephen Clarke, I enjoyed it as it was the second part to A Year in the Merde and is such a comical book that gives us an insight into the French culture from a British perspective.

The last book I read was Blood Relations a true crime book about the Benson family. Basically it was about how the oldest son planted two pipe bombs in an SUV holding his mother, adopted brother, and sister and the insuing investigation, media attention, and trial. It was a tad bare for my liking, but it was interesting. I prefer Ann Rule's books and how she personalizes the victims and the murderers as to the bare bones that this book was written in.

The First Wives Club, By Oliva Goldsmith. I really enjoyed it as had watched the movie and was told that it left lots of things out from the book.

Anyways it did and the book is fab! A real hoot esp if your feeling a bit down.

Would recommend for any gal!

A Respectable Trade by Phillippa Gregory

I have been reading her books lately since they are based on actual history she just adds story lines to them. "The Other Boylen Girl, Boylen Inheritance, The Constant Princess" All based On actual historical figures. Yet not exactly TRUE" Cept her "Wideacre" series, It wasnt based on anyone it was just a messed up series but you still get into it, the whole time thinking "where on earth did she come up with that? Or What the &^%$ that is NOT normal?"

Brother Odd from Dean Koontz. It was okay, but it was a little bit of a take off from the movie Forbidden Planet. It was the third book of a trilogy and I think it was the weakest of the three books. All that said, it was a well written book.

Animal Farm by George Orwell, for school.
Its the second time I've had to read it: once, forced
in Intermediate School as a part of the curriculum, and
just recently in a different state, for 9th grade.
The story does not interest me much.

In my leisure, I believe the last novel I read, completely, was
Mansfield Park, by Jane Austen.
I've read all of her full length novels.

And the last manga I've read would (again, completed)
be Gatcha Gacca. I think thats how its spelled. I don't know who it was by.
I really liked this manga. Its.. different.

Gallipoli by Les Carlyon...

why i enjoyed it ... because to me it is very important for us to never forget what happened at Gallipoli. Not because it was a pleasant or nice book to read .. reading about the futility of war .. isn't nice .. it's very sad .

To those that fought in that campaign .. the ANZACs and The Turks .. a respect grew between them .. and that's also an important thing never to forget .. That the enemy soldier .. is really not that much different to yourself .. that they are somebody's son, brother, uncle, husband ... ( in WW1 and now in the current wars).

The last book I read was "The Reckoning" by Sharon Penman. It's about the fall of Wales to King Edward I. It's brilliant, very well written (like all her books, I'm now reading another of hers) and it's harrowing to know that most of what you're reading actually happened. I've read all of hers several times.
