Does communicating via the Internet give you a confidence you don't have in the real world?

Yes, and then when you want to act on that confidence, it's like .... hmmmmm, you're thousands of miles away. Great.

Did you discuss religion with these people prior to being on this site, or was there some mutual agreement to not bring it up? I still pretty much relate to people the same way as I always have. Although I've only been in R & S a few weeks, I spent two years in politics and still do not try to argue with friends who are not in my party.

To some extent. I feel that I do have a chance to speak up, without being so self-conscience. However, I'm not confident enough to tell someone that I don't agree with their response.

Not really..things I remark upon would not be understood too well in the so-called real world..as a matter of fact who am I kidding I'm misunderstood both ways...shot by both sides..Ahh well..it's all a game isn't it?

Oh yes, I love the anonymous factor, I can speak and say things easier without looking at the person in the eye.

I suppose in a way yes as some of the opinions I give out here I probably wouldn't mention them in my social circle as you feel a lot more anonymous here.

When i first started,yes, because i was a very shy person. But now i can talk to anyone confidently.

Yes, definitely, but it has its drawbacks. I can type whatever, but the consequence is has is many people around the world reading it and knowing who I am. That's why I do watch what I say.
