Which instrument should i learn?

Question

For my birthday my boyfriend is getting me an instrument and music lessons. I am super excited but i don't know what to get. He is rooting for cello, but i was looking into piano or electric guitar (though i can probably take piano lessons at church and the guitar i had a guitar when i was younger acoustic 100$ and i gave up so i donno if it's me?) Music i love is ska punk and jazz,funk, anything catching really. Just tell me what instruments you play and what would be a good idea for me. I will do more research though.

If your into funk, jazz, and ska punk, I think bass is good because it's really funky & it's kinda prominent in those kinds of music. Or continue your electric guitar because jazz has really really cool guitars.

I'd go for guitar cos it's easy to carry about and U can play your type of music on it. BUT it will hurt your fingers at first and you can't have long pretty nails and play strings - it doesn't work. Also guitar is probably the easiest to play out of all your listed options. I play almost anything with strings - guitar, banjo, mandolin, harp, lute, bouzouki, fiddle, sitar, bass etc

Piano. with a good piano background, other instruments will be much easier to learn considering your choice in music.

piano....it can be used in just about any fashion. a lot of music artists today incorporate piano into their work. tori amos, one of my fave artists ever, plays the piano in all her songs in such a way i'd never have thought possible. fiona apple as well. i wish i learned how to play piano, oh well....

Hows about a saxaphone! bit expensive though, would love one myself.. I learnt clarinet,flute,piano while at school and got bored very quickly.
