i think your reaction does no longer grant the "answer" to the question. and you probably did say you do no longer understand abt compu.....(i comprehend u tried) It would not mater, as long as you answer the question, human beings choose each and everything of their very own techniques. there is not any "who's fault" and seem on the others answer, they did get a million thumb down, too. And the asker already decide for her/his ultimate answer. i do no longer think of anyone (perhaps some) could only take a seat there and supply thumb down. Your answer wasn't stupid, whether it''s non-informative adequate.

some answers seem to get loads of thumbs down for reasons that i can't understand.
i only ever give a thumbs down if i find the answer offensive or rude. but we must remember that this site is also used by and accessible to children so if an answer is a bit risque it may get a thumbs down.
to be honest i never check if my answers have been given a thumbs down, but i will start checking now - watch me get loads for this answer :-)

Well, that is a very good question. Very rarely have I ever done this, so I would not be able to use my actual experience...however, I would think that they are either intimidated by the answer...or they are simply afraid to hear others voice their opinions.
I would not let it bother you, everyone has an opinion.
Not everyone is secure enough to handle the actual opinions thought.

Because they can,half the time they probably don't read the answer.i think certain users may take a dislike to someone because of their answer,then follow them about thumbing down just because its them.Or just plain jealousy because of a particular users popularity,or simply because they are a bit thick and cant think of a good answer,so thumb down all the good ones.

I don't know why, this has happened to a lot of my answers as well. I always think that it's not worth putting a thumbs down on someone's answer unless they are being abusive and very rude, otherwise I just find it really childish.
