why do women demand so much after a divorce?

even when they are in the wrong, my ex never stops asking for more and more things!!! why do you girls do this?

There isn't much information in this question, but if it has to do with children; then its because it is up to you to provide for your family...whether you are there or not...and if there are no children then it is because she for some reason feels that she deserves soemthing.
If however the divorce has been for a while, and the paperwork is over with, you are only obligated to give her what is in your divorce decree...and not a penny more...and if she keeps bothering you...you can get a restraining order and have a court appointed person mediate your separation/payments to her.

My ex-husband doesn't demand. He just talks about not being able to afford food.

An ex-partner from more than a decade ago didn't demand either. He just outright stole. Well, he convinced himself that it was due him. He'd divide things in half, take his. And then come back, divide the rest in half again and take 'his.' He'd do this when I wasn't around and his halves always included the better of the lot.

You might get farther in understanding your ex's behaviour if you stop casting it in terms of gender. As it is, you're likely to make all sorts of assumptions about the next woman you're with. Which doesn't make for a healthy relationship. It's individual, not gender.

A marriage is not a man who has a married a woman, but two persons that have married each other. A marriage is not a marriage owner + an hired assistant to care of the owners household. They share their lives, with a common goal, and a common responsibility.

Cant answer that - the only thing I asked for from my ex was the divorce papers to be signed - no child support, no alimony, gave him the house, the car, the motorcycle....all I wanted was him out of my life.....
