Well, laptops are designed for portability. If you want a bigger screen monitor. Might as well go for a desktop. The 19" to 21" LCD panel is definitely going to boost the play for games and graphics. I would go for the 14.1" lappy for it's mobility and lighter weight. Although the difference in inch size is minimal, the weight makes a big difference if you're a frequent traveller with your laptop.

Only you can find the balance between comfortable visuals -vs- comfortable handling overall. It would be best to go into a shop that handles both sizes you are considering and poke around on each. Also handle both, if possible. I recently puchased a laptop considering only size. I got a nice small one that is light weight. However, the 12.1" screen is hard to see. It will be fine on the road, but I do not use it at home.

Alternate view... It's a laptop, it's meant to be portable. Go for the smallest and lightest you can put up with... me, personally, I use a 12" XGA screened laptop... at 1.5Kg it save a lot of weight when carrying it long distances.

If you are not porting it, buy a desktop with a 17"+ screen.

Or buy a laptop and an external 17"+ screen

Depends on what you want to do with your laptop.

If you want to use it for home and entertainment purposes, then bigger the better, but if you are a mobile user and want to use the laptop for business purposes, i would suggest a smaller one. After all laptops are supposed to be handy and portable.
