I have only heard that ectopic pregnancy is when the baby grows in one of the falopian tubes, right? and what if it is detected on time? what is the procedure then? how does it work? or...in order to save the moms life, you have to do an abortion?

An ectopic pregnancy is when a fertilized egg attaches itself inside the fallopian tubes or on the outside of the uterus.
There is nothing you can do to save the pregnancy in this event. A procedure called a laparoscopy will be performed to remove the embryo. This involves the surgeon putting two holes into the abdomen which hollow rods will be ran into the openings which allows for removal of the specimen by jaw clamps. The surgeon watches the procedure on a screen. This produces very little scarring.

I had it 9 years ago and it was very scary. I had no idea that I was pregnant, I didn't even know about ectopics at the time. I just had terrible cramps, I had all the symtpoms of pregnancy all at once, even breast milk! That's because your hormones are so elevated, which is what they found out after I passed out in the hospital. I almost died without knowing what was wrong. They had to cut out the pregnancy from my left tube leaving me with one tube. I was 4 weeks they told me later. That was very alarming especially knowing that i wanted children in the future i was very worried. They say that it's caused by some obstruction that blocks the path to the uterus so the pregnancy attaches itself to the tube.
But thank God, now i am 10 weeks pregnant and think it's a miracle because it happened so fast. They told me that it might take a while for me to get pregnant because i only have 1 tube and that the ectopic is very likely to happen again. So as soon as i found out that i was pregnant, i had them do an ultrasound and i saw my baby just laying there in my womb, where it belongs. With a heart that's beating so fast! I was moved to tears! Now i am still nervous and awaiting my second visit to the doc next week. And i can't wait to get out of my first trimester!

Even in an ectopic being pregnant, the experiment might nonetheless exhibit up confident. The different option to check if a being pregnant is ectopic is to have a sonogram to examine for a sac within the uterus. Typically, hcg stages upward thrust slower in ectopic pregnancies signaling a trouble. Usually by the point the hcg stage is a thousand-1500, a sac will also be visible within the uterus. I might advise going for a blood experiment and sonogram. Ask to have the blood paintings repeated two-three days later to be definite it's emerging safely. Report any agony or bleeding for your document instantly. Good Luck!

I'm afraid an abortion will have to happen. There is no way that an ectopic pregnancy can survive and it can definatly kill the mother as well if the tube ruptures spontaniousy.

Yes you have to have what I guess is considered an abortion or you die. My brother in law once tried for 12 hours to keep a girl alive on a boat when her tube erupted...she didn't even know she was pregnant. She bled out and died while he was still trying to resusitate her. Not nice for her or for him. If you don't get it removed you WILL die! No question about it. There is no way to make it live....to remove it from the fallopian tube or ovary or wherever it has implanted that is NOT your uterus, it has to die. Sad but true.

Yes, in other words, its a medical abortion and there's no way around it. My girlfriend had one and tried an injection the hospital gave her to break the embryo up but instead her fallopian tube burst and she was rushed into emergency surgery. Eventually as the embryo grows, the fallopian tube will burst, they can't "transplant" the baby. It's sad, but it could have killed my friend if she hadn't already been in the hospital when it exploded.
