The Tax on that is

2.33 cents. They never round down, so I hear, although a store might.

Simply multiply by 0.0775 (7.75/100)
or divide by 100,=.2999 and x by 7.75, =2.324
then add it to the original price
=32.32

If the tax is 7.75% then the item will cost 107.75% of $29.99.

Answer: the item costs $32.31 (2 dp)

Multiply $29.99 x 7.75% , which would be $29.99 x .0775= $2.32 in tax with a total of your bill being $32.31.

multiply 29.99 by .0775, then add this total to 29.99 and thats how much it costs.

(*you just move the decimal over TWO places, then multiply that by the price of the item... this equals how much extra you have to pay in tax*)
