Check that you can log in to the router, (real problems if you can't by wi-fi, in which case get a network cable to link to it)

check you have DHCP enabled on both the router and your network card OR that the IP addresses are in the same subnet - usually 192.168.1.x where x is between 1 and 254

Check you router is enabled to pick up an IP address from your ISP and a DNS server address.

Re-enter your username and password for your ISP into your router.

Once you get it working again, copy all the settings to a sheet of paper and keep it somewhere safe.

As a real paranoid suggestion - Make sure that your broadband is connected to TalkTalk. It may be you are still connected through the previous occupants broadband supplier.

Really, really paranoid - Is your wireless card picking up someone elses wireless network and getting its knickers in a twist?

Generically, it looks like https (port 443) is being filtered. This is most likely happening at your broadband modem or router. If not that, it could be something overlooked by your service provider.

If you are not comfortable with viewing/changing settings in these devices or don't know how to access them, you will want to find a friend or pay someone to come do this for you. If the problem is not at your end, many times being able to "talk tech" with the providers support group will get you much further than your experience.

Without knowing more details about your particular hardware and possibly the country you are in it would be hard to give you any more detailed info.

Odd scenario really. Have you tried any other 'https' site? May be there is some problem establishing SSL connection to your system... which may be a network problem, but can not be sure.

Try and use your system at some other network, or take a laptop and connect it to your home network and see if the same problem persists.

I've come across this before ! It is to do with TalkTalk itself. Basically, TalkTalk (who have actually bough AOl UK - alarm bells should already be ringing) use a different MTU (maximum transfer unit) size to most ISPs for sending data, which causes connection problems to secure sites.

See this atricle for help in setting up TalkTalk Broadband....

Just copy that link into your browse address line to access it.

check to see if you are logging on with the right username and password and also make sure while trying to log on your Cap locks is not on because most log-on do not accept capital letters
verify your security setting e.g firewall settting,pop-up blocker
good luck
