He is not seen as a particularly serious candidate. Hillary or Barack would slice and dice him in a debate and most of the media would just laugh.

I personally prefer keeping him in Congress. I think he can seriously do a lot more there and he can easily win re-election.

Maybe the concentration of power behind the mainstream media has something to gain from things like the war in Iraq and national ID cards?

Who knows? I'm not with Paul on EVERYTHING, I don't think, but he makes a lot more sense overall than the current illegitimate occupants of the White House.
