Click START --> Run --> type msconfig --> click OK --> click on Startup tab.
A list of all programs that run on startup are displayed. Simply untick all of those that you don't want running on startup, then click on Apply. You will then be asked to restart your computer.

WARNING !!!

Some of these programs are necessary driver files (such as those used by graphics cards, sound cards, etc) so be sure you understand what each startup program does before de-activating it !!

One other point of note, a slow startup isn't always related to the programs booting on startup - check for viruses and spyware using a good security package (do a search on Free AVG for links to the excellent AVG security software) - and if you are using peer to peer software such as Limewire - don't !!

It relies upon on what classes you're talking approximately. If it is going into the startup tray on the main outstanding edge, frequently in case you precise click at this methodology and click on settings or possibilities, there is an decision for beginning while living house windows starts which you would be able to uncheck. guess guess could be to open the classes you do no longer desire to immediately start up and seem under those tabs for that suggestion. sturdy success.

1. Tell the programs not start at Startup through their settings.
2, Delete the shortcut from the Startup folder, located in the Start Menu.

HI,
Follow the msconfig startup instructions as people have stated. However, you got to be very careful what you switch on and off and I'd advise...

1. Searching anything you dont recognise on Google before you turn on or off.
2. Do it one at a time to avoid disaster.

Good luck!

I use a little programme called advanced uninstaller which has an option that allows you to disable start up items. If you dont fancy downloading that from somewhere like bittorrent then you will manually have to go into each programme that you want to change and select the options and then un-select the *run at start* option.

The easy way is to use Winpatrol. It uses icons and plain English (unlike msconfig) so you can see exactly what you're doing so you don't turn off anything essential. It does other stuff too and its free.

A free neat little programme called StartupLite lists all the unnecessary processes on your system and safely disables them without messing up essential services
