I have an Omni-tech desktop. 256mb R.A.M. and a Pentium !!! processor which top speed clocks out at 600MHz. I was wondering, could I replace the 600MHz P3 with a 700MHz or maybe a 933MHz P3? I'm also thinking about upgrading to 512mb of R.A.M. So no one has to mention how little of R.A.M. I have.

You can upgrade your CPU with a Pentium 700 mhz but you can't use the 933Mhz because of the bus on your motherboard. Your P3 600 is basically a cpu with a multiplier of 6 x 100 = 600. A P3 700 will be ok since it's has the same bus speed 7x100=700. A P3 933 on the other hand run on a 133 mhz bus, 7x133 = 931 ~ 933. Upgrade to a P3 700 from a P3 600 just doesn't make sense since you only gain about 100 mhz. There is a better options for you if you want to keep your system and upgrade only the cpu to another cpu that can perform like a Pentium 4. >>>IT ACTUALLY WORKS because i've bought 2 of these cpus about 2 years ago to upgraded my kids pcs.
PS: it's always a good idea to add more RAM to your system because it will make it run faster.

You can but make sure the processor you get will fit the slot and is the same type of processesor or you cant pysically get it in the computer. if you play games or do anything that requires a faster computer but dont wanna pay alot get a computer with celeron D, good processor, fast, VERY cheap for a complete system if you buy from newegg.com some are as low as 200, and this is a NEW system normally with 512 ram and 3.2 ghz processor, pretty good deal if you want to upgrade, its hard to find older parts.

There's a 1Ghz Pentium 3. Its the grand daddy of today's gigahertz CPUs.

You may have to upgrade your BIOS if your mobo does not support faster P3 CPUs.

Though you may not find them in stores anymore, you can surely find one for sale on the internet.

Upgrading to 512 is a great idea. Also upgrade to a 7200RPM hard drive.

Or if you can get your hands on those motherboards that supports dual pentium 3 cpus.

If really depends on your motherboard. If it is an old Slot1, you are out of luck. It may just support P3 (Katmai) w/c is up to 600mhz.

If your mobo is a newer Slot 1 or Socket 370, it may support the Coppermine core w/c goes up to 1.13Ghz, BUT again depending on what the mobo will support. Proprietary mobos usually have limited upgrade capability as compared to retail mobos.

its up to your mainboard, if your mainboard support 933 mhz, you can upgrade it, if not you dont. Check your mainboard properties
