I have a friend with whom I'd like more than just dinner once in a while. We're friends, but I'd like more.

I was thinking that next time we're out to dinner, before we get to the restaurant I pull her aside and kiss her. Simple. Straightforward.

If she's interested, I would know soon enough.

If she isn't - I'd understand.

In response to the second answer I received:

I often tell her I'd like to see more of her. I invite her out to shoot pool, to watch a movie to stay in so we can read or write together. And nothing happens, we always go back to eating. We have brunch, lunch, dinner, you name it. Sometimes we go for drinks at a local bar if we've just had dinner before we go home. It feels like there has to be a table between us when we meet.

I haven't made a move because I know she thinks of me as a good friend and she's told me a couple of stories where she's friends with someone and the guy made a move on her and she had to let him down. I didn't want to be another guy who's misinterpreted what we have.

Or you could even just try to hold her hand, if she looks at you like you're weird, she doesn't want to be more than friends.

The next time that you go to dinner together, talk to her. Tell he that you have really enjoyed your dinners with her, but something has been on your mind. Then tell her that you would like to be able to see more of her. Tell her that you have begun tp develop feelings for her that you had not anticipated. Tell her that you hope that she is feeling the same way about you, but if she does not you will understand.
