Not really but i think there have been a series of rubbery against the rest for i particularly will say that the match between Australia and Italy was not all that perfect because they rubbed Australia so is the match between Ghana and Brazil they were also been rubbed so i think definitely if they wouldn't be any thing like rubbery they are going to perform well for i think the same players that have been playing for their countries have been also in the Leagues here in europe and our players are not to be compared to them but it unfortunately that when they goes to their national team to play they play all their best but they will be rubbed so i think those who say there are more players here i don't sight with them at all. They are also good let put rubbery aside and see for ourself the wonders that will happen.

Well not the whole of Europe just a select few, Italy and Germany have won 7 World Cups between them, with England and France, just the one.
Uruguay were the original giants with 2 wins, but the last was in 1950.
Basically when the trophy is held in Europe, a European nation will win, except in 1958 when Brazil triumphed.
Brazil are the only nation to hold the distinction of winning the trophy outside their continent, in Sweden (1958), USA (1994) and Japan/Korea (2002).
They will remain favourites to win in South Africa in 2010, although I suspect Argentina, will be the ones to emulate them.

yes, i think also that 32 teams is somehow a large number for a world cup there is some week teams like Asian teams and some teams from Africa, in the last cup there were a lot of meaningless games , i think 24 or may be 16 teams r bitter.
the only good teams r Eruo and Argentina and Brazil...

not really. It's a battle of the best world teams in soccer. It's just the fact that strong teams are from Euro, Brazil and Argentina that's why they dominate.

It is and it isnt. Basically you cant look past the Europeans or the two South American giants as to whos actually gonna win the thing, but some of the lesser nations still contribute, with their differing styles and sets of fans, some even get a good run to the later stages.

YEAH I AGREE, AUSSIE ROOLZ YOU FOOLZ.
but answering your question, the statistics in my head say that the world cup has been won 17 times by teams of only Sth american or European teams.
It has been held only in Europe and Sth america since 1994 when it was in the U.S and then 2002 in sth korea and now its in Africa.
The dominate continents are europe and Sth america but look at the progress since the 90's and you can tell that we are slowly getting there when refering to football being a WORLD GAME.
Africa, Asia and the Pacific, we will be just as good as Europe and sth america in the future, you'll see!

.....well, yes. Just as Basketball is basically USA, Long distance running is basically Ethiopia, and Cricket is basically South Africa, India, West Indies, Sri Lanka, Australia, Bangladesh, etc.
Lets not forget that if Ghana was not robbed against Brazil in the last world cup, it would have been them that would have suffered the diagrace against Zidane (and the other Frenchmen).

It used to be, but in recent years the gap has really closed. African, Asian, and North American teams have all proved they can be competative with the very best teams in the world.
