With all respect to the other responders, most of these remedies are unreliable and definitely will not produce fast results.
Slow breathing will get big results in 15 minutes. Just one time is only temporary but if you do it every day the effects will become long-lasting. You can use it along with all the other very good suggestions that take longer.

Parsley eaten regularly it reduces heart rate and lowers blood pressure. You have to eat quite a bit of it 9at least 1/4 cup of the leaves) and it has to be fresh food stores sell it but it would be useful to grow your own so you know the quality and no chemicals were used to grow it. Grow it in a pot in a well lite area.

Please note . Some of the essential oils in parsley can stimulate uterine contractions, pregnant women should avoid eating large quantities of it. But after the baby is born, parsley can help tone the uterus and promote lactation.

Chives combined with a low salt diet will lower blood pressure.

Other things that will help is to exercise regularly

reduce sodium intake

increase potassium intake 33 studies found that the systolic blood pressure of people who took potassium supplements dropped and average of five points.

But it is better to get potassium from foods such as apples, melons, bananas, potatoes, tomatoes, and nectarines.

Watch out for tomato juice, though. Most brands of tomato juice are very high in sodium. Read the label.

Reduce Meat intake
studies show that vegetarians tend to have lower blood pressure.

Reduce alcohol consumption

Do relaxation exercises

stress is a major factor with high blood pressure

I agree with Beauty. I would also add that exercise and stress management will help a lot. Atheletes generally have a lower blood pressure becuase they train their bodies to go when they need it and nrelax when they don't.

Another way is a breathing exercise. Breath out for a count of 4. hold for a count of 4, then breathe in for a count of 4 and hold for a count of 4. Then go to 5, then 6 etc etc. Don't strain. Whne yo breathe out picture the air being forced out from your diaphram (just below your lungs) up through your lungs, throat, nose and out. reverse coming in. Don't raise you r shoulders, but keepyour body as relaxed as possible.

Massage helps a lot. If this is a serious condition, see your doctor.

Good luck!

In the mean time, she must closely watch her blood pressure & keep it normal with the right medications. On the long run, she can live free of hypertension if she can shed the extra kilos if she has any, walk briskly for at least 30 minutes every other day & to have ouderless Garlic capsules on regular basis.

There is a traditional chinese remedy called Goji (known in the west by the latin name Lycium barbarum or the common name Wolfberry) which has used successfully for reducing blood pressure.

You can find information about it at http://www.gojimedia.com.au/info/heartdisease.php and you can also do a search for "Lycium barbarum" at www.pubmed.org and take a look at what research has been done on it (there are over 70 studies listed there).

I take Goji myself, and buy mine online in a liquid form at http://soundhealthwa.freelife.com
