I`m now a grade12 student in my highschool.I came to Canada 9months ago, but because I was a newcomer and ESLstudent,I didn`t take PHYSICS12,CHEM12,and of course, English12. Now,I`m graduating with some other courses, but I need to take those three courses for entering university.I have decided not to go to college because my marks are very high and I just don`t wanna destroy them by taking college courses. I`m now 18 and I can stay another year in highschool taking 3 courses. But because it will take me a whole year to pass them,I`d rather to go to adult school to pass them in like one or two terms. But my parents and especially my older brother insist that I’d better remain in my school another year than go to adult school, because the adultschool teachers do not really help students especially in English courses. On the other hand,I`m really afraid of taking English12 in my school next year, because almost all of the students will be native speakers.I’m really confused…pls help me!

i took a g.e.d. (general equivalency diploma) when i was 15 and went straight to college. now i am 43 years old and i realize how much i missed by skipping ahead. i dream i am back in high school. at least you are on the right track going to school at all. if i were you i would finish those courses in high school, then go on to the university. if you are smart enough to learn at least 2 languages, don't sweat the english courses you are not competing with the other students, you are just trying to reach your own highest potential.

Your family is correct. Don't waste a good year on a lousy education.
