A person who is an egotistic is constantly telling others how great he is. This is because he need the constant reseaurance that he is above average,

A person with a helthy ego does not need to reasure himself or other in his abilities, he know what he can and can not do, and let's his actions show that to others.

oh my ... this is deep
my interpretation is that people who are egoistic are very insecure. and hence the fact they have too little ego as they are insecure. They think they trust themselves but they are not. They are coward and hence easily affected by what others do and think of them.

it sounds about right. You sound like you are describing my ex lol he acts all arrogant and superior because I think he truly is hiding from his own insecurities......so he must put others down to bring himself up....but that doesn't explain why some people take out their insecurites by being abusive to others and some people like me are insecure and do not......
