I had elk in Canada once and loved it since but I haven't been able to find one it served in any Bay Area restaurant. Can someon help?

Yes. The Big Four Restaurant in the Huntington Hotel always has one or two game dishes on their menu, and they sometimes serve elk for the game entree of the evening (alternating with venison, ostrich, alligator, and other game specials). You'll have to call ahead and ask if they are going to feature elk on any particular night, though, because the menu changes frequently. It's a comfortable but upscale (jacket and tie) old English club environment on top of Nob Hill, near Grace Cathedral. They also have a superb wine list.

Hurley's in Yountville (Napa Valley). They have elk and all kinds of wild game. It's their specialty. I was at a Christmas party there last year. Check out their website.

without hesitation I will recommend Scotts Seafood in Walnut Creek or Oakland Jack London
