OK these people live on a farm or something and the crops go bad and start making the family crazy.....alls I remember is the mom was eating a bad tomatoe then next thing she was sowing a sock to her hand...........the son was a fat boy too..............please help......I am clueless what the name is and it was from the 90's and I was @9-10............believe it was a horror movie

...the 'sock sewed to the hand' was a dead giveaway!!!
At any rate, you're talking about the second cinematic adaption of writer H.P. Lovecraft's story, "The Color Out of Space", resulting in the 1987 production of "THE CURSE", starring Claude Akins (the first film version was the 1965 chiller, "Die, Monster, Die")
