You need to talk to your wife. Usually (averagely) a women ovulates around 12-16 days into her cycle. So about a week after her period has finished. If you have intercourse around that time you can find out about two weeks later with a home pregnancy test. As for signs you can get morning sickness- I got it when I was four weeks pregnant. Tiredness I got one week after conception. Sore boobs can happen a couple of weeks after conception. Mood swings.
Pregnancy may not happen the first time you have intercourse. It may take a few months. If you have been trying for 12 months + then see your doctor. Couples only have a 25% chance each month of conceiving. You might want to talk to your wife about buy ovulation tests (ebay really cheap) and charting her temperature to find out when she ovulates so you can have intercourse around those times.

She may not get pregnant the first night or the first month. It depends on where she is in her menstrual cycle. Signs include that her periods stop and her breasts might swell. She will tell you.
