This question was inspired by a song called "Songs That Saved My Life" by a band called Kill Hannah.

I mean in any way has a song saved you? Helped you regain hope or helped you feel like you wanted to live.

Yes.

It was the song Famous Last Words by My Chemical Romance.

I'm 15
I was last year. I was depressed. My family was broken for about 3 years now, and it's so freaking hard for me. I have to think about jobs and money and my family's safety, not to mention school...my grades was going down the drain.

Then, by the time Welcome to The Black Parade primiered on the tv, I was already on the brink of suicide. I have even decided to just end my life. But then that Saturday, my mum took us out shopping, and I saw the Black Parade album and bought it.

It was a very good album. I was still depressed.

But then,

As I got to the end of the album, there it is, the song Famous Last Words...

When I heard the line, "I am not afraid to keep on living," it just comes to my mind that I don't need them. I don't need those kids who made fun of me. I don't need my dad. I don't need my siblings. I don't need anyone. It was just me against the world....

And now I'm still living and am one of the top students at my school, not to mention I have a very secured future now...

So I don't have to worry about a thing....

Thank you, MCR.

Yes, two [songs]. First, Shine a Light by the Rolling Stones. I was drowning in the ocean, caught in waves, and I was on the edge of the void. I could sense it approaching. Then that song just happened to come into my head... it gave me power. I gave a final few pushes. I thought it was not enough, and I thought, "Is that what my life lead up to? Me dying in the ocean, with so many things I still wanted to say?" But I had thankfully made it. I could feel the sand scraping my feet, and I was so thankful... And not to sound like a depressed kid either, but the Rain Song by Led Zeppelin has saved my life. I wanted all my pain to end so badly... well, in short, listening to this song a lot has saved my life. I still continue to listen to it every day, and it matches up with my life so well, those last two verses. It makes me feel better and helps me overcome obstacles. I am glad you are still here and that that song saved your life. :) And everyone else who answered yes to this question, too.
