If by "bookish" intelligence...well, he graduated from an Ivy League school (Yale), but I heard he made mainly C's...plus didn't his daddy go there too? I smell a hint of nepotism here; maybe daddy helped his son to get in...just like Jeb helped W win the 2000 election, LOL.
But in so far as knowing how to do his job...HECK, NO!!!!
Clinton (though I disliked him) had a better semblance of how to run the country, even if I didn't agree with some of his methods, than this doofus we still have now. (And I'm somewhat of a right-leaner, politically)
I could go on & on...but I'll stop

I believe that he is quite intelligent. I think he has responded to the threats on the US in quite an efficient way. He didn't ask for the series of events that fell into his lap, but he's had to respond to them. I think he's had some bad advisors, and bad intelligence information given to him, but I think he acted with prudence and good judgement given the information that he had.

I think the liberals and the media have tried to hang him out to dry, and unfairly so.

Domestically, he could do better. I think he could do alot more in curbing high gas prices, etc.......but has yet to do so. And that certainly hurts him.
