Etc. could also be contingent on certain things - closing date, price, etc.

I know in Florida it is. My advice though would to pay the bonus only for certain performance. Such as full price offer, or 30 day close, something like that.

Usually the MLS will read something to the effect of

3% Buyer Agent Commission
$2,000 bonus to Buyers Agent if closing occurs on or before 6/21/07

and of course the Seller must agree to these terms before they're advertised :-)
