Who else thinks the beatles or the most overrated band of all time?

I would have to agree that as a band they are/were completely overrated and, though I have an extremely diverse musical taste, can't bare to listen to them. The songs they wrote however are pretty good and even whilst I don't like them as performers, I can apprciate the lyrics and structure behind their music when sung and arranged by other artists, for example Ben Taylor singing "I Will" and Sarah McLachlan singing "Blackbird".

I am with you!!!! Never cared for that pop...no feeling to me..as for the Doors..I see someone picked them..please they were ahead of their time and to deep for some..as a matter of fact some of their music was from old Muddy Waters blues..and Hendrix over rated..oh come on...he invented the damn guitar the way he played..only one before him better..that is Buddy Guy..and Hendrix even cancelled his own gig to see Buddy Guy..who did not know who Hendrix was!! But we all have opinions..but the Beatles were without a doubt a bull$h!t band..that made money from what their long hair..and teeny boppers fans. I was a teen then..I had no interest..I was listening to John Lee Hooker..Led Zepplin..Doors..Stones..any great blues I could get my hands on..canned heat oh the list of talent back then is endless..and the Beatles do not fill that bill. Look at woodstock and the talent there..rent the movie..it is great to see..!

Sorry, not me...you want a truly overrated band, go for The Doors. They had one legitimately great moment when they recorded "Light My Fire", but are more famous for their charismatic frontman than for anything they did musically. The Beatles helped reinvent the way popular music was written, played and recorded.
