try accepting who you are before you try to be someone else. once you are comfortable being you, you might have the confidence it takes to make that change you want so much.

First really accept who you are NOW, Love you as you are... THen...Imagine, articulate very clearly what you want, visualize this person... you, who/what you want. Then write it down, every detail, every facet, really concentrate on creating this Vison. Then go backwards, figuring out what it will take to get you there. The inspiration / motivation to change may come in the picture you create of what you want, so the more creative, visual and detailed you are the better.
Change is inevitable, the Only Thing That Stays the Same is Change.
Embrace this.
Embody It.
Fear = False Illusions Appearing Real
The illusion that you cant or you will ''fail'' is what holds us back, creates the fear, there really is no such thing as failure, just a different experience..
Get help, feedback, professional, good Friends, A Coach, objective opinions are usually better than those close to us, as they may have judgments and pre conceived ideas.
Do NOT hang out with people who don't believe in you!!
I could go on and on, it is a life long journey, walking thru the fear of change..
((())))))
Books:
Feel the fear and do it Anyway
ANYTHING by Ernest Holmes
Care of the Soul - James Moore
Wayne Dyer has great stuff on processing, growth, & change.
Good LucK !!!!

First of all, you must realize that not all change is bad. Most of the time, we are all uncomfortable in new situations. What I like to do when I feel this way is to challenge my comfort zone. Try something small at first and with each success, you will find more confidence and feel better about something that may have once intimidated you. Once you discover that change doesn't hurt, you may in fact find that change can offer up all sorts of opportunities. The idea of "one door closes and another opens...." is a perfect way of describing change. The challenge is to choose the correct door. Deep down inside we all know which door is the right door but some of us are afraid to go through it. Don't be. Life is about change and how we cope with it depends on making good choices for ourselves. Don't walk through a door (take an opportunity) that leads to failure, choose the right door. Expect the correct door to be challenging (nothing good comes easy) but in the end sometimes the hard path is the good path because it leads to greener pastures (work hard and try your best and it will pay off in the end). Don't fear change, embrace it and experience all that life has to offer. Apparently, we are only here once and we're here for a good time, not a long time. Don't waste anymore time worrying about what may or may not happen. Go out there and live, love yourself and be the person you want to be. Think it and you can be it!

Change isn't something that happens overnight. It's something that takes time and effort. It can often be a good thing, depending on what you're trying to change. Some things are easier to change when you have good friends around, too. I've found that a good way to change yourself is to change your lifestyle. Not dramatically, but just the little things. Change your routine, what you do during the day. Exercise, read, write, things like that, maybe some small things that you didn't used to do before, and start incorporating elements of who you want to become.

This is a very common fear in people of all ages. Take little baby steps to change yourself. Don't try to change to much at one time. Your fear is really the fear of the unknown.

Take baby steps. It is hard to change, but if you will write down something that you want to change and do it in small
steps. If you don't get it done, don't give up just keep trying
until you have changed one thing and then go on to another.
