Actually, Deja Vu is the sensation that you've DONE something before, or experienced something already. It comes from a French word that means "already seen."
The word you are looking for is Deja Visite, which means "already visited" and describes the sensation of having been in a certain place before.
There is more than just terminology that is different.
Deja Vu is most likely caused by a "glitch" in the temporal lobe of your brain. It can't really be explained paranormally (like people saying it happened in a past life or in a dream) because often everything, including the place, the atmosphere, the conversation, etc. are EXACTLY what you think you "remembered" happening before. All that happens is your brain mistakes what it is seeing right now for the past, giving you the sensation that everything that is happening now has happened before. Deja vu is VERY frequent among people with epilepsy and schizophrenia, although it happens, though less frequently, to us "normal" folk.
Deja Visite is more of a phenomenon. People with Deja visite can be in a new place, and actually find their way around and know of exact places and landmarks although there is no possible way they could have actually known that having never visited the place. Deja Visite, therefore is scientifically unexplained.

The term déjà vu is French and means, literally, "already seen." Those who have experienced the feeling describe it as an overwhelming sense of familiarity with something that shouldn't be familiar at all.
Déjà vu has been firmly associated with temporal-lobe epilepsy. Reportedly, déjà vu can occur just prior to a temporal-lobe epileptic attack. People suffering an epileptic seizure of this kind can experience déjà vu during the actual seizure activity or in the moments between convulsions.
Since déjà vu occurs in individuals with and without a medical condition, there is much speculation as to how and why this phenomenon happens. Several psychoanalysts attribute déjà vu to simple fantasy or wish fulfillment, while some psychiatrists ascribe it to a mismatching in the brain that causes the brain to mistake the present for the past. Many parapsychologists believe it is related to a past-life experience. Obviously, there is more investigation to be done.

It's called Deja Vu. It is when the brain "sees" an event before the mind acknowledges it has been "seen". In other words, the brain has recorded the event a split second before it acknowledges "seeing" the event. It seems familiar because it was imprinted on the brain a split second before it is actually acknowledged by the brain.

"Deja Vu"
It seems to be a neurological "hiccough" of sorts. A person may perceive something without being conscious of the perception until a moment afterwards. Upon the consciousness of the perception dawning, the person gets the impression that he is seeing a familiar scene, one that he has encountered before.

Deja vu, because alot of times..like in our dreams, our subconcious plays on our memories so something thats really routine like walking down a hallway at school seems like deja vu when you wake up, even though you've never really thought about it.

What you are describing is called: Déjávu. It defines that certain feeling which overwhelms a person suddenly experiencing that illogical sensation of having been someplace, or done something before, during an undetermined past, which the person knows with certainly that he/she could not have possibly done or experienced before. Because he/she can't determine when, some have proposed that it is something that happened during a previous life.
