I will give you the statistics, you choose the best.

BA-331 OB%-417 SLG-559 OPS-976

BA-302 OB%-386 SLG-557 OPS-943

BA-305 OB%-374 SLG-555 OPS-929

If you chose the one with the highest BA the best OB% and the highest SLG & OPS as the best, then you just chose Stan Musial.

The second set of stats are those of Willie Mays, the third are Hank Aaron.

Great question. I'd have to agree with your picks. Willie Mays certainly was among the top10 or 20 of all time regardless. Aaron's stats speak for themselves. I'm not a fan of Pete Rose nor do I think he deserves the title. This has nothing to do with his legal problems. Rose got the most out of his limited talents but I would not say he far into the same class as Mays or Aaron.

Other considerations could be, "Yaz", and Tony Gwynn.

Aaron was great, and his defensive skills are overshadowed by his home runs. Rose was the most versitile, as he played 6 positions in his career, and was an all star at 5 of them. Mays was, and probably still is the best all-around player there is.

Hank Aaron by a nose then Willie Mays. Stan the Man would be considered that had he played in Boston or NY.
