I need to change my old Socket A i got is AMD Athlon (tm) XP 3000+ 2.17 Ghz, i wonder if there any faster for socket A processor. thanks for your help, its help me alot.

Fastest Socket A is the XP 3200+ Barton. You might be able to exceed its performance a bit by overclocking your current processor. There's little to gain by upgrading your processor. If your main interest is gaming, consider upgrading the graphics card instead. The new X1950 Pro AGP and 7950GT AGP are very FAST.

The fastest is the Athlon XP 3200+ at 2.2GHz. That is an incredibly small bump in speed. If you really want to upgrade, you're better off starting fresh.
