In a couple of movies i have seen them use a dream doll that is supposed to protect you from bad dreams sort of like a dreamcatcher..does anyone know if this is real? Is there such a thing? If so where do you get them?

it might be 1 of those things that parents do. like give you a stuffed bear and tell you that the bear will protect you in your sleep to make you sleep better. and im not sure where to get dream dolls because i never heard of them but you might find them at the stores that sell dream catchers

when i was a little girl i had a set of dream dolls that came in a small, wooden box that i kept under my pillow. they each represented different things (it's been so long the meaning escapes me) but i loved them and they did seem to give me peace of mind.

i agree with the other poster -- it may have be psychological like your mom telling you if you hugged your teddy bear real tight you wouldn't have bad dreams.

i got the dolls from a gift shop when my auntie was in the hospital -- i think my mom purchased them so i'd have something to play with. i'm sure you can find them on native american Web sites and maybe amazon.com

To add info to "The Hmmm Girl's" post:

Look up "Worry Dolls." You can buy them all over San Antonio, I do know that.

You make them yourself, usually out of yarn...you have to whisper to them each night that you want them to give you good dreams, and put them under your pillow
