~If you have to ask, don't bother.
What do you like to read?
What is your reading level?
What is your reading comprhension level?
What is your vocabulary level?
Are you interested in fiction or non-fiction?
How hard do you want to work to enjoy what you read?
What do you want to get out of reading?
How much do you want to put into it?

You can't go wrong with:
Fountainhead by Ayne Rand
One Flew Over the Cucoo's Nest by Ken Kesey
Ulyses by James Joyce
Puddin Head Wilson by Mark Twain
1984 by George Orwell

but you might have to work a little harder than you want to with any of them.

The list is endless, and I commend you for wanting to read. Such a refreshing concept on this site. Stay away from The best seller lists and treat yourself to something worthwhile.

I like the original James Bond series by Ian Fleming- From Russia With Love, Dr. No. Better than the movies, by far.

The Time Traveller's Wife, by Audrey Niffenegger.

I read it recently, couldn't put it down....it's just beautiful - and i cried buckets at the end.
The first few chapters are a little difficult to get into, but as it goes on it's just captivating.

Read it, you'll love it!

If you haven't already, read Huckleberry Finn. It's a classic for a reason and one of the only state-mandated book I ever enjoyed.

1984 by George Orwell, then watch "An Incovenient Truth" like all school kids are forced to, sometimes more than once, and look at how all those who go against Al Gore's preachings are portrayed as quacks or slaves of oil companies.
