Do any of you guys have any ideas what to do for mother's day? Me and my sis's have gifts already, but we want Mother's Day to be special and I wanted to see if any mothers had any things that they would like to do for mother's day that I could possibly do with my mom and sis's. Any idea is welcome! Something fun, inexpensive, and worthwhile! Thanx!

My daughter is 20 yrs old and has been asking me repeatedly what I want for Mothers Day. All I ask is that she stay home with me for a whole day without going anywhere. I love her and want to spend time with her like I did when she was little and *had* to stay home. But she would rather buy a gift *sigh*....All I can suggest is what I'm going to do for my own mother, thank god I still have her...I'm going to make her breakfast, bring her roses, give her a gift, buy her lunch, spend the day with her (assuming she feels the desire to just be with her kids like I do) and give her an elaborate dinner. After all...she went through a hell of a lot ot give me life and then see to it I didn't croak off during those first years when I couldnt take care of myself ;) After dinner we just set around and play games and talk....spend that quality time you'll regret not spending after she's gone. (Mom will be 73 a few days after mothers day). No matter what the age, spend every second with her that you can...dont miss out. Every mom is different...just try to spend time with her and do for her what she doesnt like doing so she has a day off. Good luck.

Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing:

Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you two would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it!

The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle.

Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard.

Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it a homemade feeling.

This is a really beautiful poem too!

Women have strengths that amaze us.
They carry children, they carry hardships, they carry burdens but they hold happiness, love and joy.
They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in.
They stand up for injustice.
They don't take "no" for an answer when they believe there is a better solution.
They go without new shoes so their children can have them.
They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel and cheer when their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear about a birth or a new marriage. Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They have sorrow at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left.
They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart.
Women come in all sizes, in all colors and shapes.
They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you to show how much they care about you.
The heart of a woman is what makes the world spin!
Women do more than just give birth.
They bring joy and hope.
They give compassion and ideals.
They give moral support to their family and friends.
Women have a lot to say and a lot to give.

Here is something you can try that can go along nicely with the gifts you already purchased. Americangreetings.com has a free Mother's Day service called The Many Faces of Moms where you can post an online tribute to your Mom that is displayed with hundreds of other Moms. You choose one of their Mother's Day ecards (several are free), upload up to three digital photos of your mom, and add your own message. Your Mom will get the eCard sent to her email and your tribute to her will be posted live on their site. It's pretty unique, and it's also fun to do for celebrating other Moms in your life like friends, grandmothers, etc. You can make your own tribute at www.facesofmoms.com.

just an idea of what to do try going out for a special mother daughter only day trip to a spa or something. or if your on a tight buget try simply taking her to a chick flick and supper or even a nice gift and a card will do. Just remember that it is the thought that counts......plus shes a mom she'll probably just be happy that you rememberd her most moms are even happy witha "thank you for being such a great mom" and a phone call !
