I took my kid camping when he just turned 3. Just me and him. When I was reading the "The Honey Hunt" to him in our tent with the flashlight, he said to me "Daddy's my friend". I'll remember that for the rest of my life....Do you have a fav. camping adventure story?

It was a daycamp memory, does that count? (even though I have gone camping with my children a lot, more than 50 times I'm sure)

My favorite was when I was 7 months pregnant with my youngest child and I was a cubscout leader for my others. I loved watching them learn new things like BBgun shooting, Archery, and being natural sharp shooters. The sweet 'aww' that came from their mouth when they seen a fluffy baby bird. The laughter as they slid around on a giant soapy wet tarp bumping into eachother on inner tubes. Looking in the rear view mirror to see them slumped ontop of one another in the backseat sleeping.

I have so many great memories of camping in high school. I was a junior counselor at a camp in northern Wisconsin.

I would take the kids on overnight canoe trips. I loved it. Pitching a tent for them, cooking over the campfire, singing songs and telling stories. Sleeping under the stars and waking up to the fresh scent of pine and the mist over the river.

These are still some of my very favorite memories!

I don't know about my favorite, but here's my most memorable...
I went camping/hiking with friends a few years ago. We made the mistake of going in April...it was literally raining caterpillars!! If I spent more than 2 minutes out in the open under the trees, I'd have about 20 on me. Crawling up my legs, falling on my head...it was disgusting! We couldn't do anything outside the tent, so we spent the entire evening in it laughing at our situation (and counting the caterpillars on our tent). It was so ridiculous.

Yes, I do have a camping adventure story (involving myself as a teenager with a teenage boy in a tent on a youth retreat) but I think it would be a shame to post it in the same forum as yours.

Mine was sweet, but yours would win hands down in a sweetness showdown.....

I could live with a 3-year old happily for the rest of my life....

Yes I went with a group of friends on our horses and rode all day then camped the night. It was awesome fun even though I rolled down the hill in my 'mummy' bag during the night and woke up lodged against a small tree..good thing too. there was a little pond at the bottom. lol

I think back and I loved every camping trip we took. So much so that after my divorce, I bought a brand new trailer and moved to the campsite for 6 months.
