I couldn't pick a specific decade of music.
I have the biggest respect for music of the 60s (The Who, Bob Dylan, Richie Havens, Joan Baez, Peter, Paul, & Mary, etc) I love the whole "new generation" hippie thing. I'm not from that era, but it appeals to me still.

I love the 70s. My favorite genre of music is punk, so obviously my favorite era of music should be the late 70s when The New York Dolls, The Ramones, and The Stooges were inventing punk.

Then the 80s I love. Which is when punk came alive with The Misfits, The Adolescents, and a lot of other hardcore punk bands.

But I'd have to say my all time favorite would be the 90s. When riot grrrl was created. Bikini Kill, Bratmobile, Heavens To Betsy, The Frumpies, The Gits, etc are all my idols.

But I don't know. I can't choose.

I love the 40's, 50's 60's 70's and 80's , but if I can only choose one, I'll take 70's. Had classic soul songs, disco, rock & roll, blues and thats the decade I fell for country music also.

My fave was the 80's hair band era. It's great for me because I was in high school from 84' to 87', & I had a blast!!! Most of those songs bring back some fun memories.

i would have to say the music in the 70's is my favorite because back then a whole lot of music videos weren't out and when you heard the music you just listened and had your own thoughts or memory's about a tune ,now when you hear a song first thing you think of is the video . good luck with the paper .

The 80's by far. Rock still had guitar solos, Prince was King, and even the most bubblegum of pop songs still has elements of real musicianship in the writting. Something that died around 1994.

The late 60's ruled and into the early 70's, the birth of heavy metal, and evolved to cool bands like 'Blonde'.

Country music anytime before 1980s. Before that it was all from the heart, brought communities together and would didn't have to pay through your nose to see Dolly Parton in person.
