Urine Odors:
To remove offensive odors from furniture and rugs: make a solution of 3 parts Vinegar to 7 parts water, pour in a spray bottle and spritz the area. Allow to air dry, windows up and all, and spritzing lightly. Once dry you should not have any remaining odors. If possible set a small fan up to blow onto the area.
To remove offensive odors from linens: use one cup of Vinegar in your wash cycle, along with your usual detergent. This will not damage dark colored items, and will actually boost your usual detergent's ability to clean, as well as help remove tough stains!! The Vinegar will neutralize any smell and will not leave an odor once it drys.
Hope this helps.

Try this to get the odor out of carpeting so that even your pet won't smell it (and won't go to the bathroom in that spot again). This is about the only thing that will eliminate the odor completely.
1. First, you must blot up any liquid residue using a heavy pad, paper towels or old, disposable rags. Lay this pad on the carpet and stand on it to absorb as much liquid as possible.
2. You must use an enzyme product to digest the protein, particularly in urine. Your pet store will sell this product and the ones I recommend are Outright Pet Odor Eliminator by Bramton Company and Nature's Miracle. Read the directions on the product carefully, following them exactly. Do not be afraid to really saturate the carpet. Pet accidents soak through the carpet back and into the padding , so the enzyme treatment needs to soak in just as deeply. This is very important because not putting the enzyme in deeply will not eliminate the odor. Be sure to saturate the entire area, covering the circumference of the stain thoroughly. Urine goes deeply into the carpet and spreads.
3. Cover the treated area with a plastic garbage bag or a dry cleaner's bag. If there is any writing on the bag don't let it touch the carpet or it will transfer to the carpet. Weight the plastic down with something heavy-the idea of this is to keep the enzyme from drying out until it can do it's job, which is digesting the protein in the urine or feces. Leave the plastic in place at least 24 hours, preferably 48 hours. Do not take the plastic off until the 24 -48 hours are up.
4. After 24-48 hours, uncover the area and allow it to dry thoroughly. This may take a week - 10 days depending on how deeply you treated the spot. To speed drying time, you can let a fan blow across the area.
5. Once the area is completely dry (and only when it's completely dry) check for odor. If there is still odor, re-treat as directed above. If the odor is gone, clean the area with a good-quality carpet spotter that specializes in pet stains. I like Spot Shot Instant Carpet Stain Remover.

It's difficult to find, but a product called "Nature's Miracle" is the only thing I've found that works. We get it at Jeffer's. They have a store here locally, but you can order it online from them as well http://www.jefferspet.com/ssc/product.asp?CID=0&mscssid=DF37E90KRE378J6SMCF4QLA0DXQ53N9A&pf_id=989 If the link doesn't work the store's website addy is www.jefferspet.com and search for Nature's Miracle. Don't get the slightly cheaper brand. Doesn't work at ALL!!! It's not that expensive and certainly worth it when we're talking cat urine smell verses no smell.

They have products like UrineGone or something like that in pet places like PetSmart. I have a friend who gave his kitten away like 3 years ago and the smell is still there and it's still very noticeable.

I would try letting baking soda sit on the carpet for awhile and then vacuum it.That should eliminate the odor.

try Fresh & Clean with Arm & Hammer. if that doesn't work, the urine is in the padding and will need to be replaced.
