Your roommate is a jerk.

All you need to do is say "thanks, but I'm straight, I do appreciate the compliment though". Then you can get to know the guy further if you like as friends, or you can end the encounter right there.

If the guy doesn't get it though, you may need to be clearer about it, some gay men don't realize that no means no, it's sorta weird, in which case you just need to say that you can't love him, and he has to find someone who can.

But yeah, your roommate sounds like he's inferring that the gay man thought you were gay as well, that was not likely.

I've told straight men I find them attractive, and it's just meant as a compliment, to make their day, nothing more. I mean it's exactly the same as when a woman says she finds me attractive, I take it as a compliment but let her know nothing can happen.

No matter what the sexual orientation, we're only eyecandy for those we're not attracted to I guess heh.

I have alot of gay male friends and have hung out at gay bars many times with them. I've been hit on several times by gay women. I just said "no thanks, I'm straight" and found it flattering. Why would you want to hit or fight with someone just because they find you attractive? That sounds stupid to me. Take it as a compliment even if you're not attracted to that person. Sometimes I just don't understand guys. How many times has your roommate hit on a girl that had no interest in him?

I've had that happen before. I'd just tell them I was straight, or mention my boyfriend in the conversation. What's to fight about? That just means someone found you attractive. Good for you! Your roomate sounds insecure.

I've had guys hit on me twice. And both times I had no idea what was going on until afterwards. Honestly, it's kind of flattering. I mean, you've had girls hit on you that you would never go out with in a million years, but that's still flattering, right?

Well, after he performed I'd let him down easy, with the possibility of a quickie in the future but nothing final.

if he was a cute CD i would probably hook up!!!! but as far as just a guy coming up and asking me then i would probably explain to him that i am bi and looking for a certain type of person. Then buy him a drink.

why would you get into a fight over someone being attracted to you? Can't you just say "sorry but I'm not gay"??

No need for violence. Just let them know politely that you are not gay and are therefore uninterested.
