If you are referring to Pop Art, I wouldn't say any onbe artist stood out. They all seemed to address different aspects of Pop Art's themes... my favorites would be Claes Oldenburg, Wayne Thiebaud, Jasper Johns, George Segal & David Hockney. Andy Warhol is probably the most famous one.

Probably Michael Jackson but he was the "self-proclaimed" king of pop, although it was pretty much true in the 80s.
