The motion is comforting like your womb. Baby's liking vibrations is not uncommon and nothing for your to worry about. A lot of children love the ride on the car for the same reason. He or she will eventually grow out of it. You can try getting a vibrating pad like you put on chairs and putting it under the sheets in his or her crib on the lowest setting to see if that helps. This is a fresh baby so and behavior such as this is nothing to be concerned about. If it continues into the first year and he or she can't sleep without it or crys for this feeling through out the day then you might consider it a stim for sensory imput and you need to work on pairing it with a more appropiate behavior.

this is really normal. it is not going to hurt him-- but it will be difficult to get him to transition when he gets bigger. I had this problem w/ both of my children. w/ my daughter (my 1st) I just had probs transitioning. With my son, we just kept patting him to sleep, made sure it was dark w/ some minor light (we got one of those cloud turtles from amazon which put stars on the ceiling), and we slowly backed away. I also put a mattress pad under the sheet to help w/ comfort. but know its normal b/c the baby has been inside you, with all your movement and such-- and so taht is what the baby likes. Also... the baby has been crammed inside you, so maybe try to block half of your crib off right now to make a more confined space for your baby since that gives them security in the early months.

my son is 10 weeks old and still dont like sleeping in his crib for more than 3 or 4 hours a night. i think that a baby this little is still new to their surroundings and feels safe in their mothers arms.you truely cant spoil a baby until they are 4 or 5 months old.i would not worry to much at this point. i did find that my son sleeps better if he is tightly wrapped in a blanket and has a very smal pillow tucked behind his back when sleeping on his side. good luck and congrats on your new baby they are such bleesings.
note:just think one day your baby will be to big to sleep on your chest enjoy it while you can they grow so quick .it dont seem like my son should already be almost 3 months

Make sure you swaddle him. Make sure it is a light blanket though, as it is getting warmer out now. Over-heating is one of the main causes of SIDS. Don't make the mistake of letting him sleep on your chest. I did and my 8 month old son was sleeping in our bed up until about a week ago. Also, he was waking up about 8 times a night, so we tried the Ferber Method and he is already sleeping through the night. I'd like to kick myself for not trying it sooner. I think that your daughter is too young for that now but it may come in handy in the future. You can also try sleep positioners and wedges.

O this is very common. I have heard of people putting there child in there high chair because he/she wouldn't sleep anywhere else. Try getting a sleep positioner, it will help your baby breath because it has a little incline. If he sleeps in the vibrating chair..i think your talking about a bouncer...keep him there.

It may cause attachment problems down the line, you should get a cushy blanket or pillow to put in his crib. OR go to the store and get one over those noise makers that sounds like a beating heart, those work pretty good.

I've seen my mom put like a teady bear on the baby's back or legs to assure them that someone is there. It's also good because you can see the teady bear move up and down as the baby breathes. Basically, you won't have to look that hard to see if they are breathing.

this is completely normal! This new life was inside you for 40 weeks and is used to being close to you. this is part of the bonding experience as well. Try reading Dr. Sears books...they encoourage you to go with your motherly instinct and not listen to the false cultural norms that can actually harm your potentail for bonding.

Aww, sweet little guy! Three weeks is really young...he'll probably grow out of it. As it is, he wants to be near you because feeling your warmth and touch and smelling you makes him feel safe. This is normal, and should ease as he becomes more and more at ease with his own space.
Good luck!

well my 3 month old likes motion also...
move the rocker.. or the car seat (it rocks) but MAYBE
the key is comfort?
I gave her all her comforts (nuk, animal, etc.. but she likes
it in the bed with us and NOT her crib)
Go figure....
What ever get you the most sleep!
Peace
